The Course

The name “Kwiniaska” is an Abenaki word meaning “elbow in the river.” The Abenaki called the entire area “kwiniaska” because of the way the LaPlatte River makes a gradual bend through the town of Shelburne.  The golf course was originally built in 1965 by Brad Caldwell and in the Fall of 2017, the course was purchased by Robert and Marcia Nappi. Mr. and Mrs. Nappi set out on an extensive journey to renovate not only the clubhouse, but the course itself. PB Dye was hired to redesigned the course in 2018, which is now the only Dye course in Vermont. The new 18-hole layout made its debut in May 2020. Total par for the new course layout is 70, with three sets of tees ranging from 4542 yards to over 5800 yards.

Kwiniaska is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Burlington and the airport. Whether playing a memorable round of golf or enjoying a refreshing beverage on the deck, Kwiniaska is sure to amaze!
